The Best Dupes For The Iconic Sol De Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

We adore a simple, no-fuss facial routine, but when it comes to body care, we pull out all the stops. From delectable scrubs and internet-famous body washes to a dry brush for exfoliation, we're always on the lookout for the next best thing to add to our bathroom shelves. And like pretty much half of #BeautyTok, Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream has been our favorite addition to our luxuriant body care routines.

The Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is a firming body cream that contains star ingredients like caffeine-rich guaraná extract, Brazil nut oil, açaí oil, and cupuaçu butter. But besides its rich ingredient profile, Bum Bum cream is a cult favorite because of its scent. Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum cream features the brand's sweet gourmand favorite, Cheirosa '62, a scent mix containing pistachio and almond as its top notes, heliotrope and jasmine petals at its heart, and vanilla, sandalwood, and salted caramel upon dry down.

But as much as we adore the Bum Bum cream's pistachio-rich scent and texture, the cream retails at $48 for 240 ml of product, which is pretty pricey and can be unsustainable if you apply it all over your body. Famous lookalikes have made their rounds all over social media, like Trader Joe's Brazil Nut Body Butter, which is perhaps the best dupe out there —  but it's a seasonal product only available during the summer. Thankfully, other excellent Bum Bum cream dupes exist. To save the day, we've rounded up ones you can buy all year.

Tree Hut Tropic Glow Firming Whipped Body Butter

Our favorite Tree Hut sugar scrubs are right within reach on our bathroom shelf, but we now have a new addition: The Tropic Glow Firming Whipped Body Butter. Like the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum cream, the Tropic Glow body butter is a shimmery, lightweight formula containing shea butter, guaraná extract, and cupuaçu butter. It also has a mix of almond, golden amber, and sandalwood notes, like the iconic Bum Bum cream.

At the time of writing, the Tree Hut body butter retails at around $10 at Ulta and Target for 8.4 ounces  — a little more product than the Bum Bum cream. Overall, this is an excellent alternative to the Bum Bum cream, and the reviewers agree. One verified reviewer on the company's website wrote, "I love this Tropic Glow Body Butter as the scent is amazing for moisturizing, so I highly recommend this. Similar scent: Sol de Janeiro. I love the amber and pistachio warm smell to this body butter. Go grab it ASAP!!"

Nutrius Brazilian Body Butter Cream

Several Bum Bum creams try to make it less obvious that they were made to be cheaper alternatives to Sol de Janeiro's Bum Bum cream, but Nutrius takes the concept of dupes very literally. The Nutrius Brazilian Body Butter Cream is the Costco version of the Bum Bum cream, and it contains cupuaçu butter, coconut oil, acai oil, and guaraná extract for a firming glow to your skin.

The tropical-scented product retails for about $35 for a pack of two 177-ml containers. However, while it features most of the star ingredients the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum cream offers, it falls short in the scent category. One verified reviewer stated on Walmart that the Nutrius cream "is the same consistency [as the Bum Bum cream], BUT the scent is not the same."

The scent difference is just something to remember if Sol de Janeiro's iconic pistachio-sandalwood Cheirosa '62 is your main reason for getting a dupe. But if you're seeking a dupe similar in texture and hydration, Nutrius's Brazilian Body Butter Cream is a good choice for a slim budget.

Treaclemoon Brazilian Love Body Lotion

It's no news that we're always looking for a great bargain and a worthwhile dupe, and the Treaclemoon Brazilian Love Body Lotion is both. At just about $6 for 250 ml of product, Treaclemoon's version of the summer-scented Bum Bum body moisturizer is worth all the hype.

With ingredients like coconut extract and macadamia oil, this is a dupe worth checking out. One reviewer on the Treaclemoon site has described the lotion as "a cheaper alternative to a well known Brazillian cream! It smells the same, goes on really well, and my skin feels soft all day. Definitely a worthwhile alternative if you're looking to save money."

However, some reviewers note that the Brazilian Love Body Lotion does not absorb well into the skin and can feel slightly heavy. Compared to the Sol de Janeiro cream, this Treaclemoon lotion makes no claims to firm up or tighten skin. But overall, the praise for its identical scent to the Bum Bum cream and its pricepoint far overshadow the complaints about its ability to deeply firm the skin.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Butter

Soap & Glory has been our go-to for delectable body care experiences, from the most delicious-smelling body washes to the softest exfoliating gloves. And their body butters are no exception. Formulated with a mix of five different oils, Soap & Glory's Smoothie Star Body Butter is a conditioning and nourishing butter that retails at $16 for a whopping 300 ml of product — a great bargain compared to Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream.

The Smoothie Star Butter includes pistachio, almonds, hazelnut, and vanilla notes, which create a rich gourmand scent profile that has become popular with TikTokers and reviewers. Where some TikTok creators have named the butter a close dupe to Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, like @lanaxo21, reviewers on the brand's website called it "heaven in a tub." However, other reviewers have stated that the scent can be overpowering, as it does have stronger almond notes, so consider your sensitivity to fragrances before landing on this dupe.
